After failing to communicate with his wife, Julia, Walker accompanies Pulsipher to arrest suspect Stanley Nawlicki, who is eventually destroyed by Pulsipher. Pieces of gold identical to those Walker stole, are found in Nawlicki's possession. Walker and Pulsipher then meet with Pulsipher's informant Elliot, whom Walker dupes into identifying Hayes as his contact. Walker and Pulsipher follow Hayes to Walker's old house, where Hayes retrieves Walker's share of the gold. After quarreling over the stolen gold, they watch Hayes deliver the gold to a "deado" named Pulaski, who, upon interrogation by the protagonists, exposes his true form to the city's mortal population. Walker and Pulsipher are suspended from the investigation; but continue their pursuit after learning the pieces of gold are components of the 'Staff of Jericho', a machine capable of reversing the passage of souls from life to afterlife.
Walker and Pulsipher capture Hayes, now identified as a deado; but Hayes and other deados (including Pulaski) escape, seize the components of the Staff of Jericho, and return to Earth. While the deados assemble the Staff of Jericho, Hayes kidnaps Julia as a human sacrifice to activate it. There, Pulsipher destroys the Staff of Jericho and Walker destroys Hayes, but Julia is injured by Hayes. She is close to death, but Walker tells her she must live. She is later seen recovering in the hospital, being checked by Proctor. Proctor reinstates Walker and Pulsipher, gives Walker a new disguise for his dissatisfaction with the previous, and adds 53 more years to Pulsipher's term in R.I.P.D.

Synopsis : Based on a Gu Long novel, THE SENTIMENTAL SWORDSMAN is typical fare, full of intrigue, mystery and conspiracy. Stylistically, it’s virtually identical to CLANS OF INTRIGUE and it’s hard not to compare the two. It’s head-spinningly complex and fast-paced, with a general plot of the hero Li Xunhuan (Ti Lung) in a feud with a shadowy assassin known only as the Plum Blossom Bandit. Occasionally aiding him is the mysterious Ah Fei (Derek Yee), who looks to be imitating David Chiang a lot of the time (and who would almost certainly have had the role had he still been in Shaw Brothers’ employ when this was made). Also involved is Li’s sidekick Chuan-Jia (Fan Mei-Shang), Lin Xianer (Ching Li) and a cast of dozens of bizarrely-monikered characters who weave in and out of the convoluted plot.
Chor Yuen was a director with a keen eye for the dramatic, and some of the external shots for this film are pretty impressive, with lots of atmospheric footage across frozen rivers and snowy landscapes. The action scenes (of which there are many) are variable but generally pretty good, although Ti Lung is doubled quite a lot for some of the more agile scenes. I would have liked to have seen more of Derek Lee’s character, though, and the same can be said about Fan Mei-Shing, who seems to have only been included as Li’s companion and manservant when convenient to the plot.

Synopsis : The plot involves a not so lucky truck driver (the great Anthony Wong) who wants nothing more than to do well by his son and even better (sexually) by his spouse. She then decides to borrow the cash from a loan shark (an ex boyfriend's brother), but can't pay it back when they change the rules of "interest". She's then forced into prostitution and the rest of the family soon follow into other "misfortune" due to her lack of payment. The plot takes a late turn when the trucker husband, his sister and an ex serial killer neighbor decide to take revenge on the antagonists.
